Shakespeare is inspiring our English classes.
This 2016 the world is commemorating 400 years since the death of William Shakespeare, exactly the 23rd April 1616. This is the reason why we have decided to bring him to our classes during this literary week, framed in our Catalan Festivity of Sant Jordi
We are learning about his tragic and comic plays such as Hamlet, Romeo and Juliet, Twelve Night, King Lear. Also, we are discovering his poetry, his famous Sonnets in his ancient language. We are travelling back in time to the 15th and 16th centuries by listening to his rhythm and uttering his words.
“We have had our opportunity to become Shakespeare for a while; we have created our own piece of art; we have written our POEMS, in English. We have been able to feel in English, such an experience!”, Marta said enthusiastically.
At the end of the week, some students of 2nd Batxillerat will have the pleasure to read some Shakespearian plays to Primary students. .
